Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains Technology Administrator Brookings, South Dakota · Full-Time, Exempt · Up to 50% Travel (Seasonal) · $50,000 – $70,000 About BGCNP The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains serves nearly 4,500 youth annually across six eastern South Dakota communities: Brookings, Elkton, Milbank, Moody County, Vermillion, and Yankton. Our 21 program sites and two Early Childhood Enrichment Centers depend on technology that works for our staff, for our families, and for the youth we serve. We are a $10.5M nonprofit with approximately 60 full-time and 200 part-time staff, and we are growing. Technology has become a strategic priority for our Corporate Board of Directors, and this role is being created with full governance support. You will work with a senior team that takes IT seriously and gives the function the resources it needs. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. About the Role The Technology Administrator is our primary internal technology resource. You will own everything technology-related at BGCNP that is not managed by our external Managed Services Provider. Your scope includes:
Every device used in our programming (tablets, Chromebooks, smart boards, STEAM equipment, projectors, audiovisual equipment, gaming consoles, 3D printers, Cricut, and more)
Every business application (Brightwheel, MyClubHub on Salesforce, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, BambooHR, VeriScreen, our financial and payroll systems, and others)
Communications and security systems (security cameras, desk phones, and organizational mobile phones)
Staff technology training and digital literacy
Vendor coordination beyond our MSP
On-site support across all 21 of our program sites
This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, prefers practical problem-solving, and wants their work to directly support youth and families. You will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and work alongside our Managed Services Provider, who handles staff devices, Microsoft 365, identity, and endpoint security. The boundary between your scope and theirs is well-defined, and our governance structure supports the role with regular check-ins, clear escalation paths, and senior-level oversight. What You'll Do Program Technology
Own the full lifecycle of every device used in our programming: acquisition, configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair, and disposal
Ensure every device a youth touches is appropriately filtered and configured for safety
Coordinate with program directors and Early Childhood Enrichment leadership to align technology with program goals
Maintain inventory of every program device, including its location and condition
Business Applications
Administer day-to-day operations of Brightwheel, MyClubHub (Salesforce), Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, BambooHR, VeriScreen, our financial and payroll systems, and other line-of-business tools
Manage user accounts and access in coordination with Human Resources and program leadership
Coordinate with application vendors on configuration changes, updates, and support
Communications and Security Systems
Administer security camera systems across program sites, including system health, footage management, and access controls
Manage desk phone systems, organizational mobile phones, and cellular plans, including call routing, device provisioning, and carrier coordination
Staff Support and Training
Be the first call for staff technology questions, resolving most issues internally before they need to escalate to our MSP
Onboard new staff on our technology systems and security expectations
Develop and deliver internal training and maintain a knowledge base covering cybersecurity awareness, phishing recognition, safe AI practices, acceptable use, and common technology questions
Vendor and MSP Coordination
Serve as our internal point of contact for technology vendors, including the MSP for staff device matters, Swiftel for networking and content filtering, KnowBe4, our Microsoft 365 backup provider, and business application vendors
Maintain the vendor map and surface contract renewals to senior leadership
On-Site Support
Provide on-site technology support across our 21 program sites and two Early Childhood Enrichment Centers
Manage technology setup for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including board meetings, donor functions, and program activities
Cybersecurity Support
Implement BGCNP's information security policies and educate staff on protecting youth records, financial information, donor data, and personally identifiable information
Coordinate vendor activity during cybersecurity incidents under direction from the Chief Administrative Officer
