TITLE: Teen Center Front Desk Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Membership Coordinator
CLASSIFIED: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Application review will begin April 1, 2026, and continue until all positions are filled. Interviews will begin the week of April 6, 2026.

JOB SUMMARY: The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact at the Boys & Girls Club and is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for youth, families, and visitors. This role ensures front desk policies are followed, manages data entry and attendance, and supports daily operations. The receptionist is expected to model the Club’s core values: Teamwork, Impact Driven, Excellence, and Good Character.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Greet every member, parent, and guest warmly—by name when possible—and create a fun, safe, and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Follow and implement all Front Desk policies and procedures with consistency.
  • Promptly alert your supervisor if a parent, youth, donor, or visitor is upset or requires additional follow-up.
  • Monitor who is authorized to pick up youth; ensure no unauthorized individuals are allowed to do so.
  • Keep the Front Desk space clean, up-to-date, and kid-friendly.
  • Answer phone calls and direct visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor. Provide accurate information about Club programs and services.
  • Distribute forms, reports, and communication to parents/guardians as needed.
  • Record and track any money received using the receipt book, ensuring daily totals match.
  • Ensure accurate daily member check-in using the Club’s tracking software.
  • Maintain and update member information in the Club’s software system.
  • Track youth participation in different program spaces within the Club.
  • Celebrate members through birthday cards, recognition calls, and other fun engagement methods.
  • Support positive Club culture by teaching life skills and modeling respectful behavior.
  • Perform clerical duties such as voicemail management, scanning, filing, bulk mailings, and helping with birthday postcard preparation and delivery.
  • Attend all required meetings, including monthly all-staff meetings, biweekly team meetings, and one-on-one check-ins.
  • Regularly provide feedback and suggestions to improve front desk systems and efficiency.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • High level organizational skills
  • Friendly, high-energy, personable and able to communicate well in person and through the phone
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work between the hours of 3pm–7pm (School Year) and 7:15am–6:15pm (Summer); Monday-Friday and Club special events as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift
  • Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
  • This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
