CLASSIFIED: Full Time, Exempt 
SALARY: Up to $55,000, 
based on qualifications and experience

JOB SUMMARY: The Training Manager is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and supporting comprehensive training programs that advance staff knowledge, build youth development competency, and maintain regulatory and organizational compliance. This role manages training schedules, facilitation, content updates, tracking, and continuous improvement while promoting a culture of learning, professionalism, and positive youth development aligned with Club values and the Boys & Girls Club’s mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Training Program Coordination & Implementation
  • Coordinate and implement comprehensive training programs for all staff.
  • Maintain an annual training calendar and required training matrix aligned with organizational, licensing, food program, and safety standards.
  • Maintain and update training SOPs, presentations, and digital training materials.
  • Support the application of adult-learning strategies within training content.
  • Implement a standardized system for tracking inperson training, including signin rosters and certificates that document the training date, topic, and length of training for employee files.
Onboarding & Staff Development
  • Manage the full onboarding training process for new hires, providing consistent, mission-centered orientation.
  • Remind staff and managers that staff complete required trainings (CPR/FA, Mandated Reporter, Food Safety, Program Quality, Behavior Management, DSS licensing requirements, etc.).
  • Track staff progress through training pathways and remind managers and staff of upcoming deadlines and required steps.
  • Partner with managers to create 90-day plans for all staff.
Training Schedule Management & Facilitation
  • Communicate training requirements for all staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal, external, and partner-led training sessions.
  • Coordinate logistics for training events, including venues, materials, communication, and facilitator assignments.
  • Meet with management to identify and respond to emerging training needs.
  • Partner with Compliance staff to provide American Red Cross CPR and bloodborne pathogen training to all staff.
Needs Assessment & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with managers and staff to identify training needs and match them with appropriate programs or resources.
  • Administer assessments and evaluations to measure retention and training effectiveness.
  • Monitor updates in licensing requirements, safety expectations, and best practices to keep training content current.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance staff development and organizational performance.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Remind staff and managers about training completion requirements related to licensing rules, safety policies, and internal expectations.
  • Audit training records for accuracy and completeness; prepare monthly training compliance updates for leadership.
  • Partner with Compliance and Safety teams to coordinate or facilitate training on emergency procedures, risk management, food program requirements, and incident documentation.

Training Logistics & Systems Management
  • Manage the training files, attendance records, and certification tracking tools in Spillett Leadership University (SLU) and BambooHR (as needed).
  • Maintain digital libraries of training curriculum, templates, and staff resources.
  • Order and manage training materials, supplies, and equipment.
Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Collaborate with managers to align training with operational needs and site-specific improvement goals.
  • Partner with HR on training requirements related to onboarding, performance plans, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership insights on training trends, staff skill gaps, and development opportunities.
Employment Qualifications:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Youth Development, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in training coordination, staff development, or youth programming.
  • Experience with adult learning strategies, facilitation, or curriculum updating.
  • Experience with Boys & Girls Clubs or youth-serving organizations preferred.

Preferred Skills
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple training priorities across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and after-school programming.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office and digital content tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • CPR/First Aid Instructor
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily office-based with regular travel between Club locations.
  • Occasional extended or non-traditional hours for training events.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for training setup and materials.
  • Must have the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers and parents at the Club with the goal of ensuring the achievement of the Club’s mission, goals and objectives. This position is considered safety-sensitive.
